CBI officer Pradhan to get MHA Medal for Excellence in investigation

Girish Kumar Pradhan, Inspector, CBI, EO-VII, Bhubaneswar has been selected to receive the Medal for Excellence in Investigation for the year 2018. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) gives away these medals to the investigating officers from various state and national level investigating agencies for their remarkable contribution in the field of investigation of cases since 2018.

Out of 101 awardees declared on all India basis, nine are from CBI. Pradhan is one among these nine CBI officers and first Odia CBI officer to get this coveted award.

Pradhan, son of Late Subash Chandra Gountia of Bargarh who joined CBI as a Sub-Inspector in the year 2008, is presently posted in CBI, EO-VII Branch, Bhubaneswar constituted for investigating the chit-fund scam cases entrusted by Supreme Court of India to CBI.

Pradhan, as an Investigating Officer of CBI, has handled many important cases including the Cooperative Group Housing Scam Cases at New Delhi and the Chit-fund scam cases at Bhubaneswar entrusted by Supreme Court.

Keeping in view his dedication to duty and excellent investigative abilities, he has been selected to receive the prestigious Union Home Ministry Medal for Excellence in Investigation for the year 2018 on the basis of his outstanding performance in the field of investigation during the period 2016 to 2018.
