BMW’s G 310 R, G 310 GS vroom on Indian roads

NEW DELHI, JULY 18

Bringing an end to the long wait of two-wheeler enthusiasts, German auto giant BMW Motorrad launched two of its entry-level products, the G 310 R and the G 310 GS, in India on Wednesday.

The bikes were launched by Dimitris Raptis, Head of Region Asia, China, Pacific, South Africa, BMW Motorrad, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India and Shivapada Ray, Head, BMW Motorrad India at a glittering function held in the BMW Group Training Centre in Gurgaon today.

The launch of BMW G310 R and G310 GS marked BMW’s debut in the sub-500cc segment in India.

Both BMW G310 R and G310 GS are powered by a 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 33.6 bhp of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Both motorcycles also feature inverted forks, dual-channel ABS, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The top speed of both the bikes could stand at 143 kmph.

The BMW G310 R is available in three exciting color options: Cosmic Black, Style HP and Racing Red; while G310 GS comes in Racing Red, Cosmic Black and Pearl White Metallic colours.

The adventure-touring oriented G310 GS has been developed by BMW Motorrad in Munich, Germany like the G310 R, and both the bikes are built at TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

Both the G310 R and G310 GS are the most affordable motorcycles in German manufacturer’s product lineup.

The BMW G310R naked roadster is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showrooom), while the adventure variant, the BMW G 310GS, carries a price tag of Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The bikes are now available on attractive finance schemes through BMW Financial Services India with all-inclusive monthly installments starting at Rs 6,999 and Rs 7,999 respectively.

The all-new BMW G310 R and BMW G310 GS come with standard warranty for ‘three years, unlimited kilometers’ with an option to extend the warranty to fourth and fifth year.

BMW Motorrad currently has seven dealerships in India in the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Kochi. The company will soon inaugurate two more dealerships in Kolkata and Chandigarh.
