Cuttack, Dec 6
Expressing their solidarity with the striking VIMSAR medicos, the Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA) of both S.C.B. and MKCG Medical College and Hospital have given an ultimatum to State government to take necessary action against VIMSAR Director within 48 hours.
If no action is initiated within the stipulated time period, the junior doctors of both the medical colleges and hospitals will resort to strike, the ultimatum threatened.
“It is a matter of utmost regret that state government is silent over the issue even after 18 days of the cease work agitation by VIMSAR junior doctors. It is neither publishing the inquiry report nor taking any action in connection with gross professional misconduct of VIMSAR Director,” said SCB Junior Doctors’ Association President Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rout.
The decision was taken after elaborate discussion with the representatives of SCB, MKCG and VIMSAR medicos in the meeting held on the premises of IMA house at Ranihat on Thursday evening, Rout said.
“We have given the ultimatum through a joint press meet hoping that the state government would take action in a right way within 48 hours following which the striking VIMSAR medicos would call off their cease work agitation otherwise we will go for a united protest,” Rout said.
