Bhubaneswar, May 7
As many as 62,500 youths in Odisha have been provided employment by the State government in the past four years. This was revealed at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today.
The Chief Minister is understood to have directed the officials to send proposal for recruitment of nearly 7,500 persons for the vacant posts in different government departments and expedite recruitment of nearly 19,000 in different agencies.
Sources said, Patnaik was informed at the meeting about regular recruitments conducted by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
The sources said, the Chief Minister directed the officials to conduct a special drive to fill up the posts reserved for Scheduled caste and Scheduled Tribe persons by June end.
“The special recruitment drive should be completed within two months,” he directed the officials.
He also asked the OPSC to announce the results of 2017 examinations immediately and announce the dates for the 2018 examination by end of this month.
