Odisha CM launches online ticket sales for Hockey Men’s World Cup

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched online ticket sales for Hockey Men’s World Cup, scheduled to be played at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from November 28 to December 16, 2018.

The chief minister received the first ticket of the tournament from Elena Norman, CEO of Hockey India in the presence of State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera.  “I am glad to announce the launch of the online ticket sales for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018. May the hockey fever of the people of Odisha spread to the World,” he said while launching the online ticket sales. “I am delighted to have received the first ticket. We look forward to hosting fans and visitors from all over,” he added.

Patnaik also took to Twitter to announce the development. “Delighted to announce launch of online ticket sales for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018. Hope all our guests will enjoy world class hockey action & the great treasures that the state has to offer. With this, I welcome the world to Odisha. #HWC2018”, he tweeted.

A total of 36 matches will be played during the tournament. The opening match will see World No. 3 Belgium take on World No. 11 Canada on November 28 while host India will also open their campaign on the same day when they take on South Africa.
