Bhubaneswar, May 17
The Centre has approved two new Medical Colleges for Odisha at Balasore and Bolangir with 100 seats.
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda today, in a letter to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan, informed that the two medical colleges — Government Medical College, Balasore and Government Medical College, Bolangir have been approved by his Ministry for the academic year 2018-19 under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme—‘Establishment of new medical colleges attached with existing District/Referral Hospitals’.
Nadda said his Ministry has also approved confirmation of conditional permission issued to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital, Baripada, in the academic year 2017-18. Besides the renewal permission for admission of second batch (100 MBBS seats) at the College for the academic year 2018-19 has also been approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
